- All academic papers should be written LaTeX (a software system for typesetting documents); I recommend that graduate students learn it as quickly as possible if they do not already know it. For writing/displaying game-theoretic models, the packages by Martin Osborne are helpful. For extensive form games (i.e. game trees), I have also used the istgame package.
- For graphs in LaTeX, tikz is the package to use. See the excellent short introduction by Jacques Crémer (or the official manual, which has everything you need to know but is 1300+ pages …). My impression is that AI LLMs are pretty good these days at creating code for a tikz plot if you describe what you want.
